Ok seriously I love THESE two!! Tracey and Curtis planned the perfect vintage inspired wedding ever and I can’t even get over how much I loved shooting it. The combination of colours that these two chose were just stunning! I just loved how they worked them into their accessories and decor. I mean take a look at the guys matching bowties! Seriously LOVE it!! I honestly stopped and gasped over SO many of these photos on their day because I was so excited with how good these two were behind the camera, and how amazing they looked together. They didn’t even lose their cool when it started to rain and that’s saying something!! The love felt between these two is undeniable and there is now doubt they are meant for one each other. Tracey and Curtis waited ten years to tie the knot and I would say it was definitely worth the wait!
I was so thrilled when Tracey and Curtis told me they wanted to do a “first look.” I hadn’t shot one yet and I just knew this one would be so, so special. Tracey and I threw around a bunch a different ideas of locations and we decided on the Blue Heron Reserve in Chilliwack,B.C and this location didn’t disappoint! It was perfect! Curtis was tucked away on a path so neither one could see each other until the big reveal. The reaction from both of them was so amazing to witness. I kept hearing Curtis say “wow” and the smile on both their faces told it all. We then had some time just the three of us to take a few portraits before heading to their ceremony.
The ceremony itself was held at The Falls Golf Course in Chilliwack. The ceremony went off without a hitch just as the rain started to come down. I was so amazed that Tracey and Curtis’ family agreed to keep shooting the family formals despite the rain. Thanks again to all of you for barring with me and getting through them! After the ceremony we headed to Bridal Veil Falls, as Tracey had always admired the tree-lined trails and imagined having photos taken there. We then headed back to the reception where I was able to capture their first dance before saying goodbye to the happy couple for the evening.
Every photographer says it, but its honestly hard to believe sometimes that this is what I do for work. I mean, I really, really LOVE doing this. I LOVE capturing these moments and I honestly laugh, smile and even tear up when I’m editing because I’m probably just as invested in my bride and grooms love for each other as they are. I know cheesy right?! The wedding day can be crazy with flurries of activity and emotion that you don’t have time to internalize and you forget more than half of what happened by the time you come back from your honeymoon but the photos bring them all back to life. Its amazing and as I edit I get to relive all of the moments before the bride and groom do, so I say I’m allowed to be a bit emotionally invested, lol
Sorry for the long sentimental ramble but I just had to say it! My heart feels full and I feel happy and blessed that I get to be a part of it all. Tracey and Curtis….it meant the world to me to be a part of your day! Love you guys and I look forward to our many years of friendship ahead.
I just love “first looks”! You can just see the excitement on Curtis’s face 🙂
This is why “first looks” are priceless!
I just love these candids of the guys enjoying a drink to loosing up before the ceremony!
And then we were off to the ceremony!
This picture says it all! These two were finally married and they couldn’t have been happier.
